The best walks off the beaten track - Brecon Beacons| Bannau Brycheiniog
Y Das circular loop over Mynydd Bychan 2 hours 3.5 miles
Park on the common at Rhos Fach SO 18550 33686, above Talgarth and you'll see the inviting shape of Y Das above you. Follow the bridlepath and take the second turn to the left to follow the fence line up the left of the mountain. This is the steepest section you'll walk up, but has super views to the east, following the ridgeline right down to Lord Hereford's Knob and Hay Bluff.
We skirted around the top of the slopes of Y Das on the sheep paths. From here you look across to the Begwyns.
On the far side of Y Das is the perfect coffee stop - there's also a brilliant ledge for an 'world at your feet' type insta photo. Here you get one of those great views of loads of peaks. Brilliant Y Grib (all hail the stegosaurus), Mynydd Bychan and its cairn, which you are going to walk over to. Plus Mynydd Troedd, Tor y Foel, Llangorse Lake behind it, and Pen Y Fan & Co in the distance. You can also see Llangynidr mountain.

Follow the edge all the way around to Mynydd Bychan. It's a great place to video your friends walking around to Mynydd Bychan. If you wanted to time your walk for sunset, you would get great photos here, looking west. From the cairn, follow the very steep sheep paths down onto the common below. Here you walk back east along the common, joining up with the entrance onto the common and taking the same path back down to where you parked your car.
