ABOUT US

Duncan & Tanya moved to Penstacan in 2018 and renovated three cottages, with much love and attention to detail, to create luxurious, fun and quirky holiday cottages with heart. 

Penstacan offers guests 70 acres to explore and is nestled in the spectacular foothills of the Cambrian Mountains, overlooking the Brecon Beacons National Park.  Formerly a working farm, it has been managed organically for the last 45 years.  We continue to enhance our meadows using sheep and welsh ponies to graze it.  We are striving to improve our soil and various habitats, including our hill, which is traditional Welsh Ffridd, a mosaic habitat linking lowland to upland. 

Our ethos is simple - we want you to have the perfect escape in this beautiful place.  Our cottages have super comfortable beds, 400 thread count linen, luxurious bathrooms, antiques and original quirky features. 

We are very aware of our impact on the planet and all of our cottage guests are encouraged to compost and recycle. We use green cleaning products that are environmentally friendly. During winter 2019 & 2020, we planted 400 trees to offset our carbon. Each tree sequesters around 15 tonnes of carbon in its lifetime, it also helps us increase species diversity, enhance and enrich habitats and manage rain run off.

When you book to stay, you can now buy a tree for £10 to offset the carbon created by your holiday, which we will plant here at Penstacan. We look forward to welcoming you to our little slice of paradise.
