New York

New York

Sleeps 2 Bedrooms 1 Dogs 1

A romantic and luxurious barn in the Brecon Beacons.

New York is an eclectic mezzanine for two in what was originally either the granary or the coach house with exposed A frame beams and large, dual aspect mezzanine.

This quirky barn is the oldest in a courtyard of glorious 19th Century stone barns. It has a unique array of stained glass and unusual windows, salvaged by the original artist owner.

Enjoy open plan living in the large downstairs space with partial double height ceiling and log burner. Curl up on the window seat with a good book and bask in the sunshine that pours through it on sunny afternoons.

Handmade kitchen with stunning beech worktops, from a tree felled locally with butler's sink and dual fuel cooker.

Wooden floors, gorgeous fabrics and our hallmark luxury bathroom with double ended slipper bath and wine shelf.

Very large mezzanine bedroom with dual aspect mountain views and exposed A frame beams. Enjoy the perfect night's sleep in a 3000 pocket sprung king sized bed with 400 thread count linen.

Veranda with views over the small garden and apple tree to the mountains. The perfect spot to enjoy a glass of something special and enjoy the stunning, sparkling star scape of this dark skies area. There are a number of low beams that you may have to duck underneath!

Why New York?

There used to be a cottage at the top of our land here at Penstacan called New York and another in the village called Pennsylvania. There was a saying that Cilycwm is 'only as big as New York to Pennsylvania'. A local historian friend told us the story and encouraged us to preserve the history and keep the name, so we did.
